South Park is set to launch a two-month pilot of LynxEye, a resident-driven CCTV pilot with security patrols to enhance neighborhood safety. Nolan Marshall, Executive Director of The Social District, has committed to fund one-third to one-half of the $50,000 budget. The project awaits essential funding from participating Homeowners’ Associations (HOAs) and local businesses. 

Downtown is a very walkable area with a plethora of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, entertainment revenues, and LA Live events. But late at night, you might feel more comfortable to have a Safe Walk from the SPBID/Social District.

The LAFD (Los Angeles Fire Department) is called out 150 times a day just for trash fires in dumpsters, sidewalk waste bins, waste left in alleys for pickup, and debris left in abandoned buildings.

This local Taiwanese staple was selected by the NY Times as one of the top 25 restaurants of the moment in Los Angeles. This probably comes as no surprise to locals, the place became a fast favorite since opening in 2022, offering the perfect composition of easy, fast service and affordable eats at prices that are hard to match these days. 

We here in South Park are sharing our sidewalks with lots of cute little four-wheeled robotic delivery vehicles.  As take-out has become more of our dining experience, creative ways to make delivery of your order to your door quicker, more efficient, and cheaper have flourished.

The South Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA) is proud to introduce the Lynx initiative, a neighborhood camera network designed to enhance safety and community well-being.

  At first glance the South Park neighborhood seemed to avoid the worst of the June downtown raids, protests, graffiti, and damage. Many residents said it was worse when the Lakers and Dodgers won the championship. But South Park businesses and residents were adversely affected and continue to cope with not only the aftermath but the continued immigration raids and uncertainties.

     The SPNA Oceanwide Ad Hoc Committee met with Adam Acosta, CD 14 Constituent Services Deputy on June 11 to share concerns and possible solutions to the stalled Oceanwide development.

Some of us might pass by LA Job Corps every day on Olive between 11th and Olympic without knowing much or interacting with the campus. But many of the students live on campus and are part of our community.
