Voting for LA Mayor, 14 Candidates Running

We started with 41 declared candidates but only 14 completed the process, met the requirements, and are on the June 2 ballot. Starting May 4, ballots will be mailed for vote-by-mail. You have two months to decide on whom to vote for mayor of Los Angeles. Note – DTLA RA (Downtown Los Angeles Residents Association) will host mayoral candidates at their April and May Third Thursday events.

         Candidates on the ballot are listed below in alphabetical order by name and descriptor. South Park Neighborhood Association (SPNA) does not endorse candidates but does provide information about the candidates. The SPNA May Scene newsletter will include additional information about each candidate.

Los Angeles Mayoral Primary Candidates:

Bryant Acosta – Chief Creative Officer CEO of Nightbreed, a music, fashion, and art events company.

Asaad Alnajjar – Engineering Manager city of LA, Porter Ranch neighborhood councilor

Karen Bass – current LA Mayor, previously in US House of Representatives as well as California State Assembly

Nelson Cheng – Streamer/Behavioral Interventionist

Rae Chen Huang – community organizer and Presbyterian minister, deputy director of tenant rights group

Tish Hyman – Musician/Entrepreneur, singer-songwriter, rapper, and record producer

Andrew Kim – Attorney – immigration and civil rights, 2022 mayoral candidate

Suzy Kim – Mental Health Professional, works on tenant housing and community development

John Logsdon – Westchester Neighborhood Council Board member, Director & Producer at Blind Vision Films

Juanita Lopez – Political Scientist, ran for mayor in 2022

Adam Miller – co-founder of nonprofit focused on preventing homelessness and building affordable housing – Better Angels

Spencer Pratt – reality TV star and an activist related to Pacific Palisades wildfire

Nithya Raman – current LA City Council member in District 4 since 2020, an urban planner, former nonprofit leader

Andrej Selivra – Enterprise Technical Architect, second generation Ukrainian American, Political Science graduate from UCLA.
