A Taste of South Park Returns September 26
The 7th Annual A Taste of South Park returns on Saturday, September 26, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at 11th Street and Grand Avenue.
For one afternoon, South Park comes together around the restaurants, businesses, and people that make this neighborhood home. Last year, hundreds of residents filled the block to eat, drink, listen to music, reconnect with familiar faces, and meet neighbors they had never met before.
This year, we are doing it again.

The afternoon will also feature live music, with SPNA currently interviewing local musicians for this year’s stage, as well as a raffle featuring prizes donated by our sponsors and neighborhood businesses.
But what makes A Taste of South Park special is not simply the food.
It is one of the rare afternoons when people from across South Park step out of their buildings and come together as neighbors. Condo owners, apartment residents, local business owners, property managers, longtime residents and newcomers all share the same block for a few hours. It is an easy way to meet the people who live around you, reconnect with friends, and make some new ones.
Your Ticket Supports South Park
A Taste of South Park is also one of the most important fundraising events of the year for the South Park Neighborhood Association.
SPNA is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization. There is no paid staff behind the neighborhood meetings, events, newsletters, advocacy work, safety initiatives, or countless emails and phone calls that go into representing South Park.
Each month, SPNA volunteers collectively contribute hundreds of hours working to make the neighborhood a better place to live.
That work includes organizing community events such as Neighborhood Night Out, Howl-O-Ween, neighborhood markets, and health programs; promoting South Park businesses; keeping residents informed through The Scene and other communications; and advocating on issues that directly affect the neighborhood.
In recent years, SPNA volunteers have worked on public-safety initiatives such as LynxEye, advocated for additional street lighting, engaged city leaders regarding Oceanwide Plaza and nuisance properties, supported improvements to Pico Boulevard, participated in discussions surrounding the Convention Center expansion and LA28, and continued pushing for solutions to issues affecting quality of life in South Park.
None of this happens automatically.
It happens because neighbors volunteer their time, local businesses and sponsors support the organization, and residents choose to participate.
When you purchase a ticket to A Taste of South Park, you are not simply buying admission to an afternoon of food and entertainment. You are directly helping SPNA continue its work on behalf of the neighborhood.
Ticket sales are an important part of making that work possible.
