Who + How to Contact Your Representatives
We have a voice! We have been using our voice – for the LA convention center expansion, chain-sawing of trees in downtown, oil well site in South Park, increased crime. SPNA has reached out to CD14 councilmember Ysabel Jurado, LA May Karen Bass, LAPD Captain Jovel.
One thing that has become evident with recent political news is that each of us actually has a voice in what does or doesn’t happen in our city, state, and country.
A general trend toward more involvement from each of us is showing results. Our government representatives do listen to us. Let your voice be heard.
Here in South Park/ Social District, these people represent you. Contact them often and tell them how you feel!

TIPS: With things moving so fast in Washington these days, I find it best to call the Representative direct in Washington DC. I have reached either a recording asking me to leave a message for the Rep. or often an actual, real live, assistant who will cheerfully accept and record my comments/request and sometimes respond with the Rep’s current position on the matter. I always receive an email back acknowledging my call. I feel this method is more efficient than writing a letter or sending an email. Each Rep maintains local offices, but they are seldom there. If you decide to send an email, go to the websites listed above where you will find a contact/email form to fill out and provide your comments.
When communicating by any method, you must leave your physical address, email address, and phone number to verify you are a constituent. (VERY IMPORTANT).
Our government representatives want to hear from us….. and they don’t bite! Call them often and give them your mind.
