South Park Developments - a Win and a Loss

Updates

The LA City Planning Department has approved a proposal to raze an industrial building near Pico Station at 1323 S. Flower for a hotel/residential development. The project calls for construction of an 11-story building that will offer a 100-room hotel, 48 market rate apartments, and 12,000 + square feet of ground-floor commercial space.  There will be parking for 158 vehicles.  More details

A project at 11th and S. Hill has been scuttled. An Australian Development Company with plans to build a 40-story landmark architectural residential tower in South Park has officially pulled out of the deal and it appears that the visionary project is no more.  The project was to feature 319 rental apartments, 160 extended stay rental units, and 3,000+ sq. ft. of retail space. Unreliable economic conditions and other conditions are blamed for the loss of this exciting project.

Two pending entitlement applications from Mack Real Estate Group, plus an 80-story residential tower by Crescent Heights remain in the works, eventually bringing a trio of new high-rise buildings to the intersection of 11th and Olive. More details below.
