Save the Date, 5th Annual Neighborhood Night Out in South Park
It started in 1984 in Philadelphia with Matt Peskin, who was president of a nonprofit group, National Association of Town Watch, that worked with crime watch groups in neighborhoods across the country. The first Neighborhood Night Out consisted of sitting on your front porch with your porch light on and talking about neighborhood crime prevention with other neighbors who were doing the same thing.
SPNA (South Park Neighborhood Association) carries that idea forward for a 5th year by gathering on Tuesday, August 4 on the patio at AudioGraph on 12th and Olive. Mark the date on your calendar. More information to follow. But just know, drinking beer, eating food, talking with neighbors, and creating a stronger and safer neighborhood is the goal. And an added perk of each South Park Neighborhood Night Out is free homemade desserts made by your neighbors!
See you on August 4!!! We will have the porch light on!!!
