Fica Fica Coffee DTLA Opens at 418 Pico Blvd.
There is a new coffee establishment in the neighborhood! Fica Fica Coffee DTLA is located on Pico, mid-block between Hope Street and Grand Ave. The clean, modern but somewhat sparce shop offers comfort and privacy to patrons as well as a multi-varied menu of creative coffee and tea drinks. In addition, there is a nice menu offering several open-faced toast sandwiches and, if you ask, there are several yummy ice cream flavors available! You can also purchase bags of their namesake roasted coffee for home consumption.
I stopped into the new shop recently and introduced myself to the busy attendant handling several customers and asked if I could visit with the owner or manager regarding the business. Unfortunately, I was referred to their rather sparse website for answers. According to their website, this new shop is the fourth in a chain of Fica Fica Coffee shops. The three other shops are located in Pasadena, Temple City, and Arcadia. The home store is evidently the Arcadia shop where their specially sourced coffee beans are roasted and bagged. Sorry, I haven’t been able to find their store hours anywhere but I’m certain they are open daily.
The two employees were cheerful and helpful and the overall experience of purchasing and consuming a double shot espresso was pleasant and was accompanied by some delicious, relaxing music.
I recommend anyone looking to experience the complete range of coffee appreciation experiences now available in South Park (currently five coffee establishments I believe) sample Fica Fica DTLA. You won’t be disappointed.
