Fun, Fun, and More Fun Times,Sunday in Wishbone Park
The Home and Garden Market drew 250 people to Wishbone Park on Sunday, May 18. It was a beautiful day in the park!
Attendees were able to browse and shop handcrafted and homemade items from 12 vendors. Items ranged from hand-painted scarfs to stained glass art and floral candles, original art, pottery, jewelry, soaps and bath treats, and dog treats In addition, the Heritage Kitchen food truck introduced the community to the newest South Park business. The Wine Station had a plethora of wines plus pizza and chocolate tarts. Delicious! They expect to open at the end of May at 1201 S. Hope. You must stop by!
The kids enjoyed making bird feeders out of Fruit Loops! Adults enjoyed painting pots and planting succulents. The dogs enjoyed some free treats from Kubos Treats.
Several attendees won raffle prizes including a $100 gift certificate to Culturas restaurant at Hope and 11th. Many thanks to Culturas!!! Other raffle items came from 6ixth Sense Home Goods on Olive at 14th, next to the fire station. They curate items from around the world. Greg Stengl, South Park resident and estates agent with The Agency, donated a $50 gift certificate to the Home and Garden Market. The winner thoroughly enjoyed her shopping spree! Other vendors who donated to the raffle were Handmade by Lynds, Knot a Square, and Moongarden Soapery.
Thanks to Aven for the use of Wishbone Park, to EVO for lending tables and chairs, and to the volunteers who made this a fun, fun event – Lyndsay Foat-Doyle (organizer), Steve Kenny, Yve Manis, Abrey Daniel, Jessica Kasbaum, Eunice Chan, Shannon Kobes, Alex Enriquez, Enid Nilsson, Larry Belliston, John Nilsson, and Tom Shrout.
The best part of the event as always was neighbors gathering with neighbors for a good time in the neighborhood.
